Owners rarely have the time to post on social media. There is so much on your plate already that this task is best designated to someone else. It's a teachable skill that you can let someone else do.

Who should you designate your social media account to?
Pay a social media company to do it.
This is an option that many take but if you have a small practice, I wouldn't recommend this. Yes I am a social media manager and no, I don't recommend paying someone to post for you. Why would I say this? No one knows the intricacies of who your practice is more than you and your team! You have an inside track to what makes you special, what gets you all to get up and go to work each day. You know all of your patients very well. A social media manager will only know the basics and won't be able to cultivate the relationships that are so important to marketing.
Owner/Operator.
This is a perfect IF you are the only person who can do it! Owners tend to be very busy and very preoccupied. More often than not, I've seen owners decide they were going to be in charge of the social media. You can tell which practices have owners doing it by the ones who post about 4x a year. It may start off well but usually owners have practicing their profession at the top of their mind - as they should. This comes to what I think is the best person in the office:
Team member
A team member is an ideal candidate for posting to social media. If it is part of their job description they will be paid for it and will be likely to do it. They know the patients, they understand the office dynamics, and they often already have the skills or can be taught the skills (this is what I love to do best - work with offices to create personalized plans and strategies with best practices for posting on social media).
Which team member should you chose?
Some tech knowledge is an asset but not necessary (it can be taught)
Look for someone who has good relationships with patients
Find a team member who is able to identify trends
Look for creativity and outside the box thinking
Someone who is willing to create systems and stick to them
Science shows that someone who is good with knowing what other people will like are best at predicting viral content. Use this to your advantage and use your team member's skills to best create content that will be seen.
