Is blogging still a thing? It may seem like it's a medium that's on the way out however, if you look at the big names of digital marketing they all recommend it. Why would those on the top of the marketing game recommend blogging? It has enormous benefits to your website! Your website, as you'll hear me often say, is your 24/7 sales person and it's vital you give her the tools to succeed, and that means blogging!

1. Improves your SEO

When Google bots are searching the web for relevant content to put in their search results, they look for content that is recent. Blogging allows you to keep recent information on your site. You may not want to be changing the structure of your site each month, because A - it's a lot of work and B - it won't help your trustworthiness. Blogging ensures new content each month.

2. Building Trust.

Blogging gives you the opportunity to show off what you know. If someone is searching for information and finds you, "the expert," they will start to trust you before they even step foot into your practice. This means blogging about things that you are passionate and expert on and your expertise will shine through.

3. Keyword Optimization.

Blogging allows you to use #keywords that you may not have on your website. This means if someone searches that term, your website will show up. This will increase your chances of being found without even having to pay for an advertising. EXTRA TIP: Use #hastags for search bots to categorize your posts a little bit quicker.

4. Consistant Content for your Patients.

Email lists are gold. They are an avenue to communicate to your people that you are in charge of. While social media lists are great, they are owned by the platforms. This means you don't own your audience and your reach can be changed by an edit in an algorithm. When you have an email list, you'll have content to send your people to your website on a consistent basis.

5. Harnessing Trends

Using trends in your field allows you to use those trends to get your content to reach more people. When you use keywords and hashtags on topics that are trending, search bots see your information as things that people are wanting to see and they'll promote your content. Find trends by searching Google Trends and use keywords for your industry.

My TEW Minute Tip would be to create a blog post, at least once a month and blast it out to all of your email list and on your social media platforms. Your blog posts don't have to be very long (in fact, concise is great) and make sure you use some key words in your posts!
